CrossFit Peabody Member of the Month: Kendra Likely

By: 0

Congratulations to Kendra Likely for earning the title of Bad Ass of the Month!!

Kendra joined CrossFit Peabody 2 years ago through our 6 Week Challenge Program.

Over the past two years she’s been able to accomplish HUGE things. Fat loss, strength gains, confidence, happiness, friendships, and MORE.

From Kendra —> “I lost 55lbs my first year of CF and gained back 10lbs my 2nd year, but kept shrinking and shrinking. I went from a size 16 to a size 6 (which are now a bit large on me again). I have literally been getting a new wardrobe 2x year for the last 2 years…about to go shopping again!”

She’s a staple in our community and I’m proud to call her a friend!

Thank you for being a part of our Family!

Without further ado, get to know Kendra!

When did you start CrossFit and why?

CrossFit on November 23, 2015

After Bootcamp … I remember that nice cool fall day the sun was bright, the sky was just perfect shade of blue, I nervously walked up those stairs to foster street and timidly looked at the white board thinking “you want me to do what?!? ”

Do you remember your first WOD?

Nope – I don’t actually remember my first WOD I do however remember that first Bootcamp workout and most importantly when we did it again at the end and I saw such progress – I was hooked!

What class do you typically train at?

It varies – gotta mix it up!

Love Saturday AM partner and Sunday SWOLE might just be my new favorite!

What is your favorite workout?

SWOLE or partner WODs.

What is one movement you LOVE and one movement you HATE?

Love to run (well that’s what Holly says I should tell myself). Lol …I LOVE DODGEBALL!

I hate …. well that’s harsh…

Pull ups and DUBs are not may favorite – mostly because I don’t have them yet!

Any BIG goals set for the next year?

Pull ups and Dubs

How has CrossFit helped you?

I found happy!

Tell us one fun fact about you?

I’m sure I’ve already mentioned it, but I’m from Iowa!

You were left on a deserted island.  What one food and thing (i.e. book, music player, etc…) would you want to be left with you?

Bacon and my iPhone/iPad (I travel a lot for work and am on it all the time – music, podcasts, play a game, read, watch a show).

Who is your superhero?

Wonder Woman of course!

What is your greatest achievement in the gym so far?

This one is really tough – I dont have just one.

What’s your best tip for new members?

I love our new members— this is a fun and supportive positive community so enjoy all the people you will get to meet that you wouldn’t have otherwise

  1. We all started from the beginning so scale what you got to until you don’t have to.

 2. Document yourself now so you can stop and see how far you’ve come along the way!

 3.  Have so much fun!!!!!!

What motivates and inspires you?

I’ve been rather self motivated but working out with such a positive supportive community is definitely inspiring.
I love to come to train – it’s one solid hour I get to not make decisions, and think.  The coaches tell me what to do and how to do it and it’s a huge break in my day – it’s my happy hour!
