CrossFit Peabody Member of the Month: Kate Dollin

By: 0

Congratulations to CrossFit Peabody Member of the Month Kate Dollin!!

Kate found us well before we were CrossFit Peabody and long before our membership base starting really taking off.

Now, over 3 1/2 years late, Kate is still here (3-5x week) crushing workouts and creating change!

Not only has Kate been able to accomplish a wide variety of fitness improvements, but she’s dramatically changed the shape of her body…

This is what dropping over 20lbs and countless inches looks like:

It’s no surprise that Kate is this month’s Member of the Month.
Over the past several years we’ve had the opportunity to work with her entire family – Kate’s husband, Eric, and her two sons Aaron and Caleb. This is something we take a ton of pride in!

So without further ado, let’s get to know Kate a bit more!

When did you start CrossFit and why?

I started CrossFit because Aaron wanted to get in shape for hockey season. When I watched the classes they looked like a great workout and I wanted to challenge myself.

I started slow and was nervous about most of the movements and never thought I would be able to them, but I surprised myself. I started in 2013.

Do you remember your first WOD (Workout of the Day)!

My first WOD was a Saturday morning with wall balls. That is all I remember!

What class do you typically train at?

During school, I train at 430. In the summer, I love the 930 class.

What is your favorite workout?

My favorite workout was the 95 pound clean with push ups and squats. We just did it as a partner workout not long ago. I have grown to love running too!

What is one movement you LOVE and one movement you HATE?

Love toes to bar and hate wall balls!

Any BIG goals set for the next year?

Over the next year I would love to get back the box jumps.

How has CrossFit helped you?

CFP is a great and encouraging g community. Positive people being good to each other. That is what I love.

Tell us one fun fact about you?

A fun fact about me I laugh when I’m nervous.

If you were left on a deserted island.  What one food and thing (i.e. book, music player, etc…) would you want to be left with you?

On a deserted island I would my journal. I write it in a lot and would miss it.

Who is your superhero?

My superheroes are my boys. They face challenges head on and make me proud everyday. I wouldn’t be who I am without them.

What is your greatest achievement in the gym so far?

My greatest achievement… Coming back for the second class?

Kidding! The improvements in my body. I am very proud of the muscle and coordination I have added.

What’s your best tip for new members?

My best tip for new members is to be patient. Keep coming back and do your best. Don’t worry about time and weight. Just do your best!

What motivates and inspires you?

Health and well being motivates. As I get older I want to stay physically fit. This helps me stay mentally for too!
